I agree that this is a huge difference, and that calling the US a "Christian Nation" would be just as wrong as calling the US a "White Nation". The population of the US at the time of independence was certainly made up of mostly Caucasians, but even then there were other races present, e.g. "Blacks" and (North American) Indians. Similarly, several religions were practised right from the start (even among the Founding Fathers themselves), how much more now!
